Talent - jobs

This table provides detailed information about occupations in North Carolina, defined at the 6-digit Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) level.

These data can be used to identify occupations that fall within a given Career Cluster, Career Pathway, and education level, and to assess the career prospects of these occupations. The “Star Jobs Rating” is a simplified score ranging from 1 to 5 that identifies promising occupations based on wages, projected growth rate, and projected job openings. Occupations with more stars have better career prospects than occupations with fewer stars; for example, 5 stars is a higher rating than 4 stars.

Projected employment growth and projected job openings data are from LEAD’s Employment Projections program. Median annual wage data are from LEAD / Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment Statistics program.

More information about LEAD’s Star Jobs ratings can be found here.
